Session Description

Today’s clients are looking for more than technical expertise—they want trusted advisors who understand their values and can guide meaningful conversations about legacy and impact. This session will equip you with the confidence and tools to raise the topic of charitable giving in a natural, client-centered way.

We’ll explore current trends in philanthropy and wealth transfer, discuss why charitable conversations matter for advisors and clients alike, and introduce a practical framework for guiding these discussions. You’ll learn how to ask the right questions, uncover motivations, and help families navigate complex dynamics—even when members don’t agree.

Finally, we’ll review giving vehicles such as donor-advised funds, private foundations, supporting organizations, IRA strategies, and future funds, so you can translate charitable intentions into actionable plans.

By the end of this session, you’ll have both the mindset and the practical strategies to integrate philanthropy into your practice and strengthen relationships with your clients, and for their families across generations.
