Many development professionals think that planned giving is just like any other form of fundraising or tax planning; however, new studies using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) show just how differently the brain reacts to bequest decisions. Dr. Russell James, author of the world’s first published peer-reviewed research examining charitable bequest decision-making using fMRI will review his latest findings and present a new model of the deep processes involved in bequest decision-making. He will detail a wide range of practical applications for planned giving officers and advisors that will help you improve your planned giving communications.
