DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us on Thursday, August 31st at 4:00 PM as we watch and discuss Corporate Transparency Act and Common Law Trusts at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.\n \n \n \nSession Description:\n \nThe federal government has developed yet another tool to help crack down on money laundering--this time by documenting who owns closely held companies. Private companies that are accustomed to the privacy that state law has afforded them will now have to provide key information to the federal government about who actually owns the companies.\n \n \n \nCommon law trusts aren’t directly subject to the CTA, but the CTA will impact trust administration if a trust holds an interest in an entity that’s subject to the CTA. This potentially includes thousands of trusts that own interests in entities formed in the United States and foreign entities registered to do business in the United States, including closely held businesses, limited liability companies (LLCs) and partnerships.\n \n \n \nThe session will be immediately followed by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at our Networking Happy Hour.\n \n\n \nWe hope to see you there!\n \n \n \nBoard of Directors, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council\n \nEvent Details \nDate:\n \nThurs., Aug. 31, 2023\n \n \n \nTime:\n \n3:45 PM - Registration\n \n4:00 PM - Program\n \n5:00 PM - Happy Hour\n \n6:00 PM - Adjourn\n \n \n \nCost:\n \nMembers - $15.00\n \nNon-Member - $35.00\n \nLocation:\n \nGreater Cincinnati Foundation\n \n720 E.
