Application Form

The Cincinnati Estate Planning Council offers membership for all levels of those practicing estate planning.

MEMBER:
Members of the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council will have access to the online membership directory, all member benefits provided through the National Association of Estate Planning Councils, are able to serve on the Board of Directors, are able to serve on committees, and can opt into appearing in the public online services directory hosted through the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council Website.

In order to qualify as a Member, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council applicants will consist of:

  1. Officers of trust companies or banks maintaining trust departments which are actively engaged in trust or estate operations and administration;
  2. Chartered Life Underwriters;
  3. Attorneys;
  4. Certified Public Accountants;
  5. Financial Planners with a CFP or ChFC designation;
  6. Other Professionals engaged in a field of estate planning that the Board finds appropriate for inclusion in the Council.

Applicants for Membership, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council must have significant current involvement in one of the six enumerated categories and must have prior experience in one or more qualifying categories aggregating five years. Additionally, each applicant shall be sponsored by a current member and shall certify to the Board that the membership qualifications have been met. Upon approval by the Board and payment of dues, the applicant shall become a member.

AFFILIATE MEMBER:
Affiliate Members of the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council will have access to the online membership directory and all member benefits provided through the National Association of Estate Planning Councils, and can serve on committees. Affiliate Members are NOT able to serve on the Board of Directors, and can NOT opt into appearing in the public online services directory hosted through the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council Website.

In order to qualify as an Affiliate Member, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council applicants will consist of:

  1. Officers of trust companies or banks maintaining trust departments which are actively engaged in trust or estate operations and administration;
  2. Chartered Life Underwriters;
  3. Attorneys;
  4. Certified Public Accountants;
  5. Financial Planners with a CFP or ChFC designation;
  6. Other Professionals engaged in a field of estate planning that the Board finds appropriate for inclusion in the Council.

Applicants for Affiliate Membership, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council must have significant current involvement in one of the six enumerated categories and must have prior experience in one or more qualifying categories aggregating in fewer than five years. Additionally, each applicant shall be sponsored by a current member and shall certify to the Board that the membership qualifications have been met.

STUDENT MEMBER:
Student Members of the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council will be able to attend Cincinnati Estate Planning Council Events at a discount, per the discretion of the Board of Directors and can serve on committees. Student Members are NOT able to serve on the Board of Directors, and can NOT opt into appearing in the public online services directory hosted through the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council Website.

In order to qualify as a Student, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council applicants will consist of:

  1. Student Members must be enrolled full-time in law school or graduate school.

Applicants for Student Membership must be able to prove their full-time student status with transcripts or a letter from the school.

Cincinnati Estate Planning Council is affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils and joining can fulfill the requirement of belonging to an affiliated local estate planning council to become an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee.
